DETAILS: As others who reported this sighting on November 8, 2003, I was
also watching the lunar eclipse -- with my father in our backyard. It was very,
very cold that night, so my father went in earlier than I did. Moments later,
(I have no idea what time; he thinks it was between 8:30 and 9:00 pm) at about
the time of the total eclipse, or shortly thereafter, I saw what I initially
thought was - ok, it was my first thought - drifting toilet paper. It looked to
me that someone tossed about 20 feet of toilet paper in the air, and it caught a
current. Then I realized how goofy that was and that it was not toilet paper at
all. It moved deliberately, and at a steady pace. I was able to call my father
out who did not see this first one, but he did see the four that followed. They
were "loosely grouped" They all moved in the same direction (NE to SW) at the
same speed - we were able to see each one for about 20 - 30 seconds. I have no
idea how fast they were going.
I have had no experience like this before or since, and I have thought about
this enough to look it up and write to you 7 months after the fact. I was
excited (and relieved) to see the other entries.
